We are a bible based, missional, Anglican church of 760 people a Sunday (pre-Covid) and are hiring a full time pastor to disciple and oversee our student ministries. Currently (during Covid) we have 19 volunteer leaders and 22 small groups of teens. You will work with a wise and gifted PT female leader who is a former YL leader.
This position will be require running the discipleship of teens, oversight of lay leaders and student small groups, interface and train parents of teens how to disciple their children, Camp Booyah, and occasionally serving in our main Sunday services.
Our current student pastor has been with us 7 years, is a priest, has a masters from Gordon-Conwell and previously served as a missionary in China. He and his family are returning to the mission field June 1.
Our ideal candidate would be a servant leader. Must have an obvious love for teens and their families. Must be reasonably organized and able to train and lead adult leaders and have impeccable references. He or she would have a proven background in discipling students and leaders with Young Life, Cru or similar. Either a degree from a trustworthy (orthodox) seminary or Christian college and at very least, knows bible, faith, church history, the ACNA Catechism well. We want an Anglican or at least someone who is happily on the “Canterbury Trail.” Love, character, competence, chemistry, team player, able to teach well, is or has parented their own children in the faith, eager to grow and mature teens and to train their parents to do the same. Salary commensurate with experience but will be generous.
