    Job Overview

    The position of Pastor of Music & Youth is a full-time ministerial staff position at Reynoldsburg Baptist Church (RBC). This pastor serves alongside and under the leadership of RBC’s lead pastor. The responsibilities of this pastor include, but are not limited to, the activities listed below. This pastor should engage in these activities in a manner consistent with the biblical expectations for the character and conduct of a pastor (e.g., 2 Tim 2:24-26; 1 Pet 5:1-4). Additionally, this pastor will satisfy and fulfill the requirements of membership at RBC.

    Job Description

    Music Ministry

    1. Lead all aspects of the RBC music ministries consistent with, as part of, and in order to advance our congregational commitments and priorities.
    2. Advance a biblical understanding of worship across all areas of RBC’s music ministry.
    3. Coordinate with the lead pastor to plan and arrange Sunday morning (and other) worship services.
    4. Give primary leadership to the music portions of RBC’s congregational worship.
    5. Coordinate the schedule of accompanists and other musical participants in corporate worship.
    6. Direct (or delegate direction for) each of RBC’s individual music ministries, including practice and service participation schedules.
    7. Recruit, on-board, and equip (as needed) existing and new participants and leaders in the music ministries of RBC.
    8. Work with the lead pastor to plan special occasion worship services throughout the year (e.g. Christmas Eve, Good Friday, etc.). Recruit music participants (individuals, ensembles, choirs, etc.) for such services.
    9. Ensure that printed publication and visual presentation of music and lyrics adheres to copyright laws and conforms to the standards of Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI).
    10. Direct (or delegate direction for) RBC’s A/V ministry, including recruiting, on-boarding, equipping, and scheduling of the A/V team.
    11. Work with the lead pastor and A/V team to coordinate and execute the Sunday morning live stream.
    12. Maintain RBC’s CCLI account and any other music and A/V-related subscriptions, enrollments, memberships, etc.
    13. Organize and maintain all of RBC’s music materials (printed, recorded, digital, etc.).
    14. Oversee the care and maintenance of RBC’s instruments (e.g., piano, organ, handbells) and other equipment used in the music ministry.
    15. Oversee the care and maintenance of RBC’s audio/visual equipment, particularly equipment in the sanctuary, Fellowship Hall, and Choir Room.
    16. Prepare and oversee the annual budget of the RBC worship ministries.
    17. Provide other leadership to RBC’s worship ministries as needed.

    Youth Ministry

    1. Lead all aspects of RBC’s youth ministry consistent with, as part of, and in order to advance our congregational commitments and priorities.
    2. Advance a biblical understanding of the gospel and the Christian life across all areas of RBC’s youth ministry, with particular consideration given to equip students to live for Christ while they are part of the youth ministry and to prepare them to pursue increasing biblical faithfulness as adults.
    3. Direct (or delegate direction for) the educational, service, missions, and fellowship aspects of the youth ministry.
    4. In partnership with the Lead Pastor, a) equip parents (and other guardians) to be the primary spiritual mentors of their children who are involved in RBC’s youth ministry; and b) lead and equip other RBC members to give spiritual guidance to youth involved in RBC youth ministries, especially in instances where parents (or other guardians) do not profess faith in Jesus Christ.
    5. Recruit, on-board, and equip (as needed) existing and new leaders in the youth ministry.
    6. Help facilitate the continued and increased involvement of youth in various roles of ministry service at RBC.
    7. Serve with the lead pastor to provide pastoral care for the youth and their families.
    8. Give primary oversight to the use and care of the Annex and ministry-related equipment in cooperation with the RBC Trustees.
    9. Prepare and oversee the annual budget of the RBC youth ministry, including the annual graduate recognition.
    10. Ensure all youth activities conform to the RBC Child Abuse Prevention policy.
    11. Provide other leadership to RBC’s youth ministry as needed.

    Other Administrative and Ministry Activities

    1. Assist the lead pastor in providing pastoral care to the congregation as needed.
    2. Provide support and/or leadership as needed for occasional services including but not limited to funerals, weddings, etc.
    3. Attend committee and other meetings as needed.
    4. Participate in regular staff meetings as scheduled.
    5. Other duties as assigned.

    Additional Comments about This Position

    Compensation for this position will be as recommended by the Finance Committee and approved by the congregation. This pastor will receive the benefits afforded full-time employees in the current Employment Benefits Policy of Reynoldsburg Baptist Church.
